MIKE HEDGES AM WELCOMES TASK FORCE TO LOOK AT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS.

Mental Health and Well Being of young people has been a neglected area of public policy but now a Joint Ministerial Task and Finish Group to accelerate our work to achieve a whole school approach to health and wellbeing in Wales has been established.

Mike Hedges AM for Swansea East said….. I greatly welcome this initiative as I have met many families where children have been blighted by mental health issues and the difficulties of accessing appropriate services. I know that this task and finish group is only beginning its work but it is a big step to increasing the focus on children’s mental health. I hope that in future years children will be able to access a range of mental health services at the earliest opportunity.
