Mike welcomes Dylan Thomas stamp launch

Yesterday at the Senedd, Swansea East AM Mike Hedges attended the launch of Royal Mail’s new Dylan Thomas stamp to commemorate the centenary of the literacy giant’s birth.

The Welsh poet and writer is one of ten remarkable individuals from the world of arts, sport, design, economics and heroism to be celebrated and commemorated in Royal Mail’s ‘Remarkable Lives’ stamp collection.

Speaking from the launch, local AM Mike Hedges said:

“As someone that was born and bred in Swansea, I was pleased to attend the launch of the Dylan Thomas stamp in recognition of one of our greatest Swansea son’s.

“With 2014 marking the centenary year of his birth, Dylan’s inclusion in the Royal Mail’s ‘Remarkable Lives’ collection will be a fitting tribute to the literacy giant, whose name and works are well known throughout the world.”
