£100m for Vibrant and Viable Places

Local AM Mike Hedges has welcomed the news that Swansea Council is among 11 Welsh local councils to share regeneration funding worth £100 million, thanks to the Welsh Government.

The news, which was announced by Housing and Regeneration Minister Carl Sargeant, has been allocation under the Welsh Government’s “Vibrant and Viable Places” regeneration grant.

The funding will be used for various regeneration projects – helping to create jobs, tackle poverty, increase housing supply and improve community facilities

The successful local authorities to benefit from the funding include Swansea, Bridgend, Conwy, Flintshire, Isle of Anglesey, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen and Wrexham.
