WELSH GOVERNMENT ISSUE FINAL FLOOD SUPPORT APPLICATION DEADLINE
We are aware that not all households affected have applied and appreciate that under these unprecedented circumstances not all properties can be checked for effects of flooding and priorities have been moved accordingly.
However, we ask that you contact all known flooded households this week, encouraging they make an urgent application for this funding. This can be done through a supported application with the local authority, or if this support cannot be provided at this time, directly by households making an online application to the DAF.
Deadline for these claims to be submitted is 5.30pm on Tuesday 31st March 2020.
The Discretionary Assistance Fund will be unable to process any applications received after this deadline.
Your continued assistance is very much appreciated.
Obviously we are now in a very different position from last week due to the coronavirus and the staff who were providing assistance over the phone from the office are all working from home with no access to take direct telephone calls. We can however make call-backs and so if anyone needs support with an application they should e-mail [email protected] to ask for support. The title of the e-mail must state ‘URGENT DAF application’. We will pick up the email and call back.
However, to manage expectations, applications for our services have doubled since last week as the income of many people has suddenly decreased and we are very stretched. We are therefore unable to respond as quickly as we did in previous weeks. DAF have been given a list of Swansea properties that were flooded by colleagues in our Highways department should anyone wish to make a direct application themselves.
